It’s taken years to materialize, but the mythical Apple Tablet computer is finally here. Along the way, Apple started (and is on the way to winning) a smartphone business, and sold more Macs and iPods than ever before. Over the last few months, weeks and days, the speculation and rumours came thick and fast. The result? Meet the Apple iPad. It has a funny name and it’s priced cheaper than you think. I think that we probably have equal number of people who are excited and disappointed by it.

Palm Pre versus iPhone versus Blackberry Bold

Over the past couple of weeks, we have seen several skirmishes in the war between Palm and Apple.

First off, Apple stopped the Palm Pre smartphone from syncing with iTunes. Apple released the iTunes 8.2.1 update, which “addressed an issue with verification of Apple devices. One of the much-touted features of the Palm Pre is the ability to sync directly with iTunes. Palm’s team of engineers (mostly Apple / iPod alumnis) somehow managed to make the Pre appear as an iPod to iTunes. I guess this is the start of a cat-and-mouse game between these two rival companies.
