After many many months, long-suffering owners of unlocked GSM versions of the Treo 680 can now download a firmware update for their devices. The new Product Update 1.12 for unlocked Treo 680 finally comes after two updates for the AT&T Treo 680.

This is straight from the horse’s mouth. Alongside the announcement for the AT&T Treo 680 update today, Palm has promised a firmware update for unlocked, unbranded Treo 680 smartphones as well. According to the Palm Blog : “The unlocked GSM Treo 680 software update will be available soon. Palm is offering a service that will send registered users an email informing them when the update is available. To register, go to http://palm.com/680update and sign up.”

The update is (finally) here! The new software update (version 2.11) for the AT&T version of Treo 680 smartphones is now available for download. This delayed update was supposed to be delivered along with the recent Windows Mobile 6 for Treo 750 update. This latest Treo 680 update also incorporates three previously released software updates: Treo 680 Camera Update (January 2007), Daylight Saving Time Update (February 2007), and Treo 680 Software Update 1.09 (May 2007).
