I’m not much of a gamer, but this year I’ve played more games than the past few years combined … thanks to the iPhone. The variety, quality and power of iPhone games never cease to amaze me. These are 5 games that have occupied my (otherwise productive) time in 2009. All 5 games are playable on the iPhone and iPod touch, cost no more than $5 each and should make people really notice the iPhone OS as a solid games platform.

The Thanksgiving deals keep on coming. Software developer Pangea is having their Black Friday sale over at the Apple App Store. All their games are now at 99 cents each.

On September 9th, Apple introduced more than just updated iPods. It also started positioning the iPod touch and the iPhone as a credible portable gaming platform. After dominating the mobile music player scene, Apple is moving into the territory of established players like Nintendo and Sony.
