With the iPhone 3GS progressively being rolled out in more countries, it’s easier now to get your hands on a unit. You could get a legally unlocked set from some places (such as Hong Kong), or your could obtain one from other sources. Now, you can unlock your iPhone 3GS.

The iPhone Dev Team last week released the latest versions of their redsn0w jailbreak and ultrasn0w carrier unlock tools. Right now, the entire iPhone line (original iPhone, iPhone 3G, iPhone 3GS) is supported. It will only be a matter of time before Apple releases iPhone OS 3.0 and the cat-and-mouse game will continue…

In the meantime, you can get redsn0w and ultrasn0w from the iPhone Dev Team website.

As always, remember to back up your iPhone before doing any of this, and perform the jailbreak and unlock at your own risk.
