One of the most talked-about developments this week is the updated Google application for iPhone. The Google app previously did not do much more than the mobile search, except adding the ability to search through your iPhone contacts list. The new update has a new key feature : Voice Search.

We knew this was coming, but this still surprised me. Not only is the Apple iPhone the top selling smartphone, it’s also the top selling mobile phone. For the 3rd quarter of 2008 in the US, the iPhone as surpassed Motorola’s RAZR as the number one handset purchased by adult consumers. Where the RAZR is fashionable, the iPhone is both fashionable and functionalu. Rounding up the top 5 phones is Blackberry at #3, and LG at #4 and #5.
