unlock and jailbreak iphone firmware 2.2

Pwned! I took the plunge yesterday and upgraded my iPhone 2G to 2.2 firmware. Next, I used QuickPwn to jailbreak and unlock the iPhone. No major issues — it was all done in about 20 minutes (including restoring my data and apps).

First impressions :
- I had very few problems with third party applications. SwirlyMMS has an update to make it work with 2.2.
- Everything seems snappier now, although that could be just a reinstall effect.
- The CallerID prefix localization problem for unsupported countries resurfaced.
- The Google Maps enhancements are great, although there’s nothing useful for me — most of the updates are US-centric.

Again, a reminder : there’s still no software unlock for owners of 3G iPhones. Do remember to back up your iPhone before upgrading.

So how did your update experience go?
