Apple iPhone – we’re number one
We knew this was coming, but this still surprised me. Not only is the Apple iPhone the top selling smartphone, it’s also the top selling mobile phone. For the 3rd quarter of 2008 in the US, the iPhone as surpassed Motorola’s RAZR as the number one handset purchased by adult consumers. Where the RAZR is fashionable, the iPhone is both fashionable and functionalu. Rounding up the top 5 phones is Blackberry at #3, and LG at #4 and #5.
More good news for Apple versus RIM:
- SquareTrade reports that iPhones are twice as reliable as Blackberry devices.
- JD Power and Associates ranked the iPhone highest in customer satisfaction for “business wireless smartphone users”, ahead of Blackberry.
RIM is holding on with the new Blackberry Bold and Blackberry Storm — but will it be enough against a seemingly unstoppable Apple?
