Earlier this week, Palm said goodbye to the Treo 680 smartphone. Palm has put the Treo 680 as EOL (End of Life). The 680 was the successor to Palm’s groundbreaking Treo 600 and successful Treo 650 line. It had double the memory of the Treo 650 and a slightly modified form factor (i.e., minus the 90’s style antenna).

It’s been a while since we’ve covered news from Palm. Last week, we heard that Palm held a round of layoffs, letting go as many as 200 employees. This is the second layoff since Jon Rubenstein took over last year, and this time the restructuring is due to “challenges facing our company and the industry”.
