When Apple first announced the iPhone, they did a great favour to the mobile phone industry, and to us the consumers. They showed that the mobile phone still had lots of room for improvement, and that it’s not just about features but about usability. It’s good to know that Apple’s competitors, the incumbent mobile phone manufacturers, have not been asleep at the wheel.

With the US presidential election less than a month away, you can’t escape the media coverage. Palm is doing its part to encourage young people to exercise their right and vote. Palm has supported the production of a couple of videos over at Mobilize The Vote 2008. They are also giving tips and examples of how to use the smartphone as a tool to spark greater involvement and engagement in the voting process.

It’s been 10 days since I last synced my iPhone with my iBook. This has caused me a lot of nervousness, especially when back in my Treo days, I used to back up daily to my SD (Secure Digital) card.
