Apple releases 2.0.2 update for iPhone
I just updated my iPhone to version 2.0.1 over the weekend. One of the main reasons was that in some of the applications (notably SMS and Contacts) there was a lag of a few seconds upon switching. I’m happy to report that my iPhone is now much snappier.
Today Apple released another update, version 2.0.2. Other than a cryptic description of “bug fixes”, we don’t know what this new update does. There were several reports of connection problems with 3g iPhone units, so this update may address those issues. So far, based on user reports on TUAW, TiPB etc, results have been mixed.
Let us know if your update was a success (and if it made any difference in quality of 3g coverage). If you have a jailbroken or unlocked iPhone, I’d recommend waiting until you can get support from the usual suspects. As usual, do remember to do a full backup before you upgrade.
