Reusable Screen Protector for Palm Centro 690

Late last month, Palm triumphantly announced that they sold 2 million units of their low-cost smartphone, the Palm Centro. There’s no denying that the Centro has helped a lot to change the perception of smartphones to be something cool and affordable. However, Palm’s success has been overshadowed somewhat hints that Apple sold 3 million iPhone 3G units sold in just one month.

The 3 million number was predicted by analyst Michael Cote of the Cote Collaborative. While Apple isn’t confirming the figure just yet, it’s probably not far off. Will Palm ever regain its position as the leader of the smartphone industry? Probably not. Today Palm doesn’t have the scale to produce high end smartphones at attractive prices. The interesting thing about the iPhone is less the amount of advertising spent to promote the device, but rather the hype surrounding it. I wish Palm would do something to stimulate some excitement over its upcoming Nova smartphones, but so far, Palm has been very quiet.
