Just a few days ago we saw photos of the Treo 800, Palm’s upcoming Windows Mobile phone. It turns out that the 800 has a brother, the Treo 850. The Treo 800 runs on EVDO (Sprint and Verizon in the US), while the 850 is for GSM networks (i.e. just about everyone else, the rest of the world). Boy Genius Report has the exclusive first photo of the Treo 850.

It’s just under 3 weeks to Apple’s Worldwide Developer Conference (WWDC). As the launch date of the 3G iPhone approaches (June 9th?), every day we see more rumours and speculations about the 3G iPhone. I honestly cannot remember any phone being so hotly discussed and anticipated before launch — well, except for the iPhone itself, of course.

Opera Software, which offers the free Opera Mini web browser for mobile phones, has released a report on the state of mobile web. Covering the first three months of this year, the report looks at the aggregate traffic generated by 44 million cumulative Opera Mini users worldwide.

Andrew of Treonauts has gotten hold of a photo of a real Treo 800w. Honestly, it doesn’t look that impressive. The Treo 800w looks like a hybrid between the Centro and the Treo 500w. While it’s good that Palm is experimenting with different form factors, they haven’t really come up with a “wow” phone in a while. In the face of competition from the latest devices like the HTC Diamond, the Blackberry Bold and of course the upcoming 3G iPhone, it’s hard to see how the Treo 800w will stand out.
