3G iPhone speculation reaches fever pitch
It’s just under 3 weeks to Apple’s Worldwide Developer Conference (WWDC). As the launch date of the 3G iPhone approaches (June 9th?), every day we see more rumours and speculations about the 3G iPhone. I honestly cannot remember any phone being so hotly discussed and anticipated before launch — well, except for the iPhone itself, of course.
Dieter and Mike over at the Phone Different Podcast have done a good job of running down the latest list of rumours in PDP#18.
Here’s what we have heard so far:
- the 3G iPhone will be launched on June 9th at WWDC
- AT&T store employees have been forbidden to take leave during the week of WWDC (the last time this happened, Apple launched the iPhone)
- the 3G iPhone may come in black and a thinner form factor
- it could have the ability to turn on/off 3G radio
- it may have built-in GPS (or built-in GPS support)
- it may come in 16GB and 32GB storage capacity
- it will be launched in dozens of countries across the globe, too many for me to recall at the moment
- it may have a lower, subsidized price point (US$200 versus $400)
What’s confirmed :
- it will have support for Microsoft Exchange
- it will have software version 2.0, which includes the App Store
Anybody else excited yet?
