One million Centro smartphones sold

There is no doubt that the Palm Centro smartphone is a success. True, it is hampered by a decade-old operating system. However, the combination of a good form factor, plus a very low price (US$100, or in some cases even free), has allowed Palm and its operator partners to push the Centro to new smartphone customers.
Just how successful is the Centro? Well, Palm announced just yesterday that they have sold their one millionth Centro. Let’s hope that the Centro and the upcoming Palm 800w can sustain Palm as a company until they are ready to release new smartphones based on the Linux OS next year.
