16GB iPhone, 32Gb iPod touch announced
In an absurd coincidence of timing, Apple just announced new versions of its iPhone and iPod touch. I was literally holding my breath last night when the Apple Store went down, less than 24 hours after I bought my iPhone. My greatest fear was that I had bought an obsolete device.
The new 16GB iPhone and 32GB iPod touch do not have any new features other than double the storage capacity. Coming in from a Treo 680 with 60MB of RAM and a 1GB SD card, the 8GB on my iPhone is positively roomy. With videos and audio loaded up, I still have 4GB free. So, I’m don’t feel so bad about this update.
These new models are both priced at US$499, $100 more than the current high end models.
Still waiting for a 3G iPhone, Apple!
