Say goodbye to Palm retail outlets
January 26, 2008 – 3:45 pm | by AziziA few years ago, Palm seeked to emulate the success of Apple’s retail stores. Unfortunately, Palm just doesn’t have the strength of the Apple brand, and retail real estate is incredibly expensive. As a part of the ongoing consolidation effort by Palm’s new management, they are going to close down all 34 retail outlets. Eight of these are Palm-branded locations and 26 stores were inside Airport Wireless outposts.
I hope all these activities will result in a leaner, meaner Palm that can once again be an industry leader when it comes to smartphone design.
