Versamail for Centro now supports Gmail IMAP

Palm has released an update for Versamail to address support for Gmail’s IMAP feature. While Versamail supports IMAP, Gmail apparently addresses IMAP differently enough from other services that it doesn’t work out of the box.

Here’s what you get from the update:
# Enhancements to Gmail IMAP compatibility and an updated setup wizard with the new Gmail settings
# Improvements to help eliminate the silent failure of email when using Microsoft’s Direct Push Technology via Exchange ActiveSync in VersaMail. Some users have reported that their email stops arriving, but they are not notified to press “Sync” to re-enable Direct Push Technology. This update helps eliminate the occurrence of this scenario.

This is an Over The Air (OTA) update, so click on http://www.palm.com/versamail407 on your Centro. Note that this update only works for the Centro, and not other Palm OS Treos.
