It’s iPhone day in the UK

November 9, 2007 – 3:27 pm | by Azizi

The long-awaited day is here. For folks in the UK, the Apple iPhone will finally be available for sale starting at 6.02pm. I suspect many people already have the iPhone in the UK, albeit using unlocked iPhones purchased from the US.

It will be interesting to see the reception of the iPhone in the UK. Unlike the US, there are a lot more advanced Nokia/Symbian phones available in Europe, and they are typically heavily subsidized by the carriers, too.

If you want to follow the hype, The Unofficial Apple Weblog (TUAW) has a liveblog for the iPhone launch. They started yesterday, hanging out outside the Apple Store at Regent Street in London.

I would guess that the general iPhone availability in the UK would not affect Palm much, since Palm does not have such a huge presence there (compared to the US).
