Well, I have been using my new Treo 680 smartphone for three full days now. My battery meter is still stuck at 99%; I am reluctant to do another recalibration in case the Treo will go dead again. To be safe, I am topping up the battery whenever I can. I will look for a new replacement battery just in case, possibly an expanded capacity battery. There are several higher capacity batteries in the market, some are larger in capacity but also require a custom (fatter) battery door.

I am getting used to the keyboard, but I still make more mistakes compared to the Treo 650. I like that Blazer now lives up to its name, and downloads web pages really fast. So far I have not encountered any problems with 3rd party applications yet.

I actually transferred my data over from my Treo 650 to the new Treo 680 by using an SD card. I copied over the relevant data files for Memos, Calendar and Addresses. Since I have almost 2,000 entries in each of these three main applications (accumulated over 8-9 years), it was critical that the data was transferred correctly. To my delight, the transfer worked flawlessly. I don’t need to recategorize all 1,900 memos that I have!
