As rumoured, Palm today launched the new Treo 500v smartphone in Europe with partner Vodafone. Vodafone was also the launch partner for the Treo 750v smartphone.

The Treo 500v is a 3G/UMTS smartphone, running Windows Mobile 6. To be released in October, it will initially be available to Vodafone customers in Germany, Ireland, Italy, Netherlands, Portugal, Spain, the UK and Vodacom customers in South Africa.
