The Palm Centro is now official, and will be available from Sprint in October. Despite some previously shown versions of the Centro, it will not have the Treo branding. The Centro seems to be quite full-featured, despite its smaller size. It runs Palm OS Garnet 5.4.9.

As expected, Palm and Sprint have unveiled the new Palm Centro smartphone. Billed as “the world’s smallest Palm device”, the Centro runs on Sprint’s EVDO network. This tiny smartphone has a full QWERTY keyboard.

Malaysian Treo 750 users can now update their smartphones to the latest firmware. The Windows Mobile 6 update for Treo 750 is free. You can download it from the Palm Malaysia support website.

Tomorrow, 27th September 2007, Sprint and Palm will be holding a joint press conference at the DigitalLife Conference and Expo. Last year, Palm announced the Treo 680 at DigitalLife. The announcement says : “The news will include a new Palm smartphone for Sprint.” This will probably be the Palm Centro. Stay tuned, the press conference is at 12.30pm EDT.
