SplashID 4.0 for Palm OS released

With all the doom and gloom surrounding the future of Palm, it’s good to know that some developers keep on churning out great software for the classic Palm OS platform. SplashData has released the latest version of SplashID, calling it their “most
significant update of their secure information manager for Palm OS to-date”.
There are a number of new features in SplashID 4.0:
- Active URL links, an ideal feature for Treo users, giving you the ability to simply tap the URL field to launch the web browser and immediately access a website.
- Four additional data fields for filling in information, bringing the total number of fields in each SplashID record to ten, plus a Notes field.
- Enhanced Password Generator, automatically generating robust passwords that fit specific criteria and rating the strength and security of selected passwords.
- The ability to email records, with SplashID automatically exporting a secure vID file and attaching it to an email message that can be sent to colleagues.
If you use SplashID on other platforms (Windows Mobile, BlackBerry and Mac OS), expect to see those updates coming later in the year. SplashID costs US$30, and there’s a free 30-day trial.
