Say hello to the iPhone

No matter where you are today, you can’t help but be caught in the Apple iPhone media storm. You’ll find coverage just about everywhere. Even hardcore Treo users are in the game — Mike Overbo of TreoCentral was one of the people who got in line to be one of the first people to get their hands on the iPhone, on “iDay”. He joins an illustrious crowd, including Apple co-founder Steve Wozniak, megablogger Robert Scoble, and the Digg guys.
As these early adopters start playing with their brand new toys, expect a lot of first impression reviews. Already, the iPhone has been unboxed and dissected. A few lucky journalists have been playing around with the iPhone for a couple of weeks, and here are the reviews :
- Walt Mossberg – (Wall Street Journal) “Despite its network limitations, the iPhone is a whole new experience and a pleasure to use”.
- David Pogue – (New York Times) “The iPhone matches most of its hype”.
- Ed Baig – (USA Today) “Apple’s iPhone isn’t perfect, but it’s worthy of the hype”.
- Steven Levy – (NewsWeek) “the phone that finally fulfills the promise of people-friendly palm-top communication and computing”.
It all seems very exciting and promising — I am definitely saving up for an iPhone, whenever it appears in my part of the world!
