3rd party applications for the Foleo

Unlike Apple with the iPhone, Palm is planning to launch its new Foleo Mobile Companion device with a number of third party applications. Palm is obviously hoping to repeat its success in building up an application catalogue of over 10,000 applications for the Palm OS. Mobile developers who are already on board with Palm’s new Linux-based operating system include Astraware, Avvenu, Bluefire and MotionApps.
Here are the applications that have been announced so far :
- Documents To Go from Dataviz
- mDayScape from MotionApps
- Sudoku and Solitaire from Astraware
- Mobile Security VPN from BlueFire
- Access N’ Share from Avvenu
- Opera Browser from Opera Software
It’s interesting to note that just about all of this first batch of applications (with the notable exception of the Astraware games, of course) are targeted towards business professionals. Palm is clearly not positioning the Foleo as a consumer device.
