A personal use of the Treo smartphone

For the past few days, I have used my Treo 650 smartphone a lot. My wife safely delivered our third child, a baby girl, on Friday morning (22nd June). Of course, my faithful Treo was there in the delivery room with us, making itself useful.
I used the Memos applet on the Treo to capture all the timing information – time of admission to the hospital (3.12am), time of delivery (8.20am) and the various contraction periods in between.
Waiting for the baby to be born (after making sure my wife was comfortable, of course), I used Blazer to catch up on Gmail and RSS feeds.
Once the baby was born, the camera went to work. I snapped a ton of photos, and more or less immediately uploaded the photos to my Flickr account. Some of the photos also went out as MMS messages, to family, friends and colleagues.
I also made use of HandyShopper to keep track of an ever-growing list of baby and mummy supplies that I have to buy.
Now my Treo is doing night duty — I catch up on some ebooks at night, waiting for my baby to fall asleep. Looking back, that’s how I first got hooked to ebooks, with my Palm Pilot Professional and my first daughter, seven years ago!
