Treo 700wx available from Alltel

Treo 700w Made Easy Training DVD

Looks like the Palm Treo 700wx smartphone is no longer exclusive to Sprint. Alltel is selling the 700wx from US$349.99 with a two-year voice and data plan. The Altell Treo 700wx runs Windows Mobile Pocket PC Edition 5.2 and comes with ActiveSync 4.2 and PicSel PDF viewer.

New Treo podcasts

Both Treocentral and 1src have released the latest editions of their Treo-related podcasts. In 1src Podcast 106, Alan Grassia talks about what the new Palm/ACCESS license agreement means for Palm, ACCESS, and those of us who use Palm OS devices. Expect to see a lot more Treo coverage in the media soon. Palm has just kicked off its worldwide marketing campaign to promote its line of Treo smartphones. The US$25 million campaign will highlight the new, made-for-the-masses Treo 680 smartphone. and encompasses a fully integrated media mix consisting of print, out-of-home, online, mobile and viral-marketing components.

Lower costs translate to lower retail prices, which means it will be accessible to more people than ever before. The quoted price of U$199 (for Cingular) and $399 (for unlocked GSM) were already very good, but now the price has fallen to … free. That’s right, MyTreo.net and Cingular are offering the Treo 680 for $0, after rebates and discounts. You do need to sign up for a contract with Cingular voice and data plans.
