Treo 680 Cingular pricing

The Palm Treo 680 smartphone is expected to be available early next week. Some units have already been sighted in several stores. Palm had planned the Treo 680 to be attractively priced, and the leaked pricing for the smartphone from Cingular seems pretty good. Treonauts has the scoop on the tentative pricing of the 680.

Here’s the expected pricing for the Treo 680 (prices in USD):
- $424.99, no commitment
- $349.99, 1 year commitment
- $249.99, 1 year commitment with unlimited data plan ($100 rebate)
- $274.99, 2 year commitment
BEST price: $174.99 2 year commitment with unlimited data plan ($100 rebate)

The no-commitment price for the Treo 680 is interesting – it’s cheaper than the current retail price for the Treo 650 unlocked GSM ($549). When it was first introduced, the Treo 650 was priced at around $700. If Palm and Cingular can ensure adequate supply for the holiday season, I’m sure the Treo 680 will do well.
