Treo 680 vs T-Mobile Dash

The latest episode of the Engadget Podcast, Peter Rojas and Ryan Block discussed the newly-announced Palm Treo 680 smartphone. They compare the Treo 680 against other current smartphones and find it lacking, especially in terms of form factor. They specifically compare the Treo versus the upcoming T-Mobile Dash. Both the 680 and the Dash are GSM/EDGE smartphones with QWERTY keyboards. The Dash has WiFi and is significantly thinner, in addition to being aggressively priced at US$199. The Dash doesn’t have a touch screen, though.
Peter mentions that the 680 would have been a massive hit if it was launched a year ago (or even back in January). Palm needs to roll the 680 quickly to avoid being outclassed by other thinner, more devices particularly those coming from HTC.
