Even if you don’t live in the UK, the Mobile Life Report is a fascinating read. Commissioned by Carphone Warehouse, the UK’s largest mobile phone (cellphone) retailer, it surveys 16,500 about their mobile habits. An overwhelming 90% of people surveyed said that they could not get through the day without their mobile phone. This is an amazing change from just 5 years ago, when the question “do you have a mobile phone” could still get “No” as an answer!

Other key findings :
- When choosing a phone, Function (31%) and Price (29%) beats style (16%)
- 14% regularly use 2 or more mobile phones
- the single biggest reason for making a phone call is to arrange a meeting with friends and family (this is a huge opportunity for mobile social networking companies!)
- 51% say that the mobile phone has improved their quality of life
