The Treo and ringtones
One way to personalize your Treo smartphone (or indeed any mobile phone) is via ringtones. Ringtones convey your current moods and inspirations – they can be upbeat, relaxed, annoying (like the mosquito ringtone) or even downright dangerous (the “I’m a terrorist!” ringtone). Out of the box, the Treo 650 and 700p support standard MIDI ringtones (like the “24″ ringtone). If you want better control over your ringtones (such as the ability to set personal tones for incoming calls from your friends, and to use any MP3 as your ringtone), then we recommend Ringo Pro.
Ringo Pro is available for the Treo 700p, 650 and 600 smartphones. If you have a Treo 700w, they have a similar product called Ringo Mobile which supports the Windows Mobile platform. Here’s a source where you can get hold of some free ringtones.
