Two billion GSM users by this weekend
June 15, 2006 – 12:59 am | by AziziAccording to the GSM Association, by this weekend the GSM industry would welcome the 2nd billionth GSM mobile phone user in the world. GSM is gaining users at the rate of 1,000 subscribers per minute. “While it took just 12 years for the industry to reach the 1st billion connections. The 2nd billion has been achieved in just two-and-a-half year,” said Craig Ehrlich, chairman of GSMA.
So Palm, where’s my GSM Treo 700p? Two billion people are waiting for it!
