Treo 700w not as good as expected?

Almost three months ago, Personal Tech Pipeline writer James Turner wrote a (mostly) positive review of the Palm Treo 700w smartphone. He said : “The Treo 700w represents a very nice smartphone … it’s the first phone that makes me seriously consider abandoning a separate phone and PDA for a unified unit.” Now, he’s having second thoughts about the phone.

He mainly finds fault in the lack of available memory (only 24MB out of 60MB, which is not that much of an improvement compared to the Treo 650), the system instability, memory leaks and sluggish performance. Turner now says : “Palm needs to fix the problems and offer a firmware upgrade quickly, or the phone will become just another nice idea that was poorly executed.”

Anyone else with a Treo 700w facing similar problems?
