Folks in the UK pay a hefty price for their SMS addiction. They send 100 million text messages per day, at a cost of up to 10pence per message. If you live in the UK, sign up for the Make Texting Cheaper petition.

The Treo 650 is a terrific SMS device. I pay 5 sen (less than 1 pence, or US1.5 cents) per SMS in Malaysia, which is relatively affordable.
