It’s not a secret that I’m a fan of the TV series 24. Jack Bauer saves the world with the help of a Palm Treo 650 smartphone - what’s cooler than that? The default ring tone in my Treo 650 is the same one used by CTU (Counter-Terrorist Unit) in the TV series. It’s actually the ring tone for Cisco IP phones.

Almost three months ago, Personal Tech Pipeline writer James Turner wrote a (mostly) positive review of the Palm Treo 700w smartphone. He said : “The Treo 700w represents a very nice smartphone … it’s the first phone that makes me seriously consider abandoning a separate phone and PDA for a unified unit.” Now, he’s having second thoughts about the phone.

If you try out a lot of ringtones on your Palm Treo 650 smartphone, you may notice that your MIDI Ring Tones file can get quite large. Even deleting the ring tones manually may not help. Here’s how to fix it:
