Access Linux Platform

Earlier this month, we bid goodbye to Palm OS 6.0 aka Cobalt, the much awaited successor to Palm OS 5.0 (Garnet) which never took off. Palmsource (now owned by Access of Japan) announced a whole new operating system, the ACCESS Linux Platform. Mobile Review has more information and screenshots of the ALP in action.

The phone shown is the Haier N60 phone, which is currently sold in China with another Linux-based operating system. Since this is an early beta, it’s probably a year or more before we will see the ALP on new generations of Treos.
