A bit of local news for a change. About half of the agents of insurance company Prudential Assurance use Treo smartphones. The agents use the Treos to access their PRUpower system to submit policy proposals to the company electronically and almost instantly.

Symantec Corp. today announced Symantec AntiVirus for Handhelds Corporate Edition 3.5, a comprehensive virus protection solution designed to secure wireless devices running on Palm OS, Microsoft Windows Mobile and Pocket PC platforms. While there are hardly any viruses on the Palm OS platform, I suppose this is more of a “piece-of-mind” solution for IT managers.
