Get your audio content on the move with AudibleAir

David Pogue of the New York Times reviews AudibleAir, the new offering from Audible. Using AudibleAir, you can wiressly download audiobooks and subscriptions, set up a quick and easy schedule for automatic delivery, automatically get new sections of the audio programs you are listening to overnight (or on your own schedule).
AudibleAir supports the Palm Treo 650 smartphone. With AudibleAir, you can:
- download from 5 minutes to the entire length of the audiobook
- choose the section within the audiobook you wish to start your download from
- choose the format (Good Quality or Better Quality)
- choose a start time for your download (now or in 5 mins, 1 hour, etc)
- save to either internal or external (SD card) memory
- view the download size of your selected portion
Depending on the quality you choose, an hour’s worth of audio can range from between just under 4MB or more than 14MB.
David’s verdict:
“Its clean, simple design and download-on-the-fly concept should teach the music and cellphone behemoths a thing or two about how real-time audio downloading might be done. And it makes Audible.com an even more attractive option for anyone who would rather listen to books than the radio or wants to “read the paper” on the way to work.”
