9 year old girl saved by SMS
It’s always heartening to hear whenever technology can make a difference in our lives. Here’s an interesting story from Ubergizmo : a 9-year old girl
was saved by SMS.
A Chinese girl by the name of Yau Jia Xin, 9, underwent successful heart surgery, thanks to the power of the short messaging service (SMS) and the generosity of the public. “A family friend sent an SMS to her list of contacts seeking O-negative type blood donors, and soon the SMS propogated to the rest of the public. The vast network of contacts tapped by a single SMS proved enough for a group of people to extend their help.”
Three good samaritans of the correct blood type donated and Yau underwent a successful surgery.
