Doom for Palm
Useful things we can do with the Palm Treo 650 smartphone, #78,439 : playing the classic first-person shoot-em-up game, Doom. Yes, it’s sad but true – no computing platform is truly worthy of attention until someone manages to port Doom to it.


Treocentral “sam-i-am” member reports that he has managed to successfully get Doom working on his Palm Treo 650.

This involves downloading a custom zdoomz program built for the Palm Tungsten T3 (freeware) and also a doom1.wad file (shareware). Several other Treocentral members report success with the program, although some need to use UMDH (Unlimited Dynamic Memory Hack) to free up heap memory.
