The Real Player software included with the Palm Treo 650 smartphone is a bare-bones music player that most people would quickly outgrow. You might also be looking for an alternative.

Treocentral has done
an excellent review of the latest version of Pocket Tunes (3.1.1) music player. Pocket Tunes supports MP3, WAV, and Ogg Vorbis formats, but not AAC – which means some podcasts delivered via iTunes (as well as unconverted purchases from iTunes Music Store) will not work.

Treocentral’s verdict : “if you really want control of your music, Pocket Tunes is the way to go”.

Pocket Tunes will set you back US$15 for the Basic version (same version shipped with the Palm LifeDrive Mobile Manager) or US$35 for the Deluxe version (with streaming support).
