One of the most important recent improvements to the Palm devices is a feature called NVFS (non-volatile file system) which means that your data is not lost when your battery is dead.

However, that doesn't mean that your Treo is safe from data corruption or crashes due to buggy software. Therefore, backup your Treo, and backup often!

There are several good shareware and commercial backup software available for the Palm platform, but it's always good to have free ones.
