Here's an interesting article about dealing with a spouse's Blackberry addiction, in the UK's Daily Mail.

"My husband's relationship started with casual checks of his in-box. A quick Google for a restaurant review. A flick to find out if Michelle at work had sent over the documents. But pretty soon, he was at it all the time: sneaky glances during supper, clandestine meetings with it in the garden. It came on holiday with us. One morning, I even found it in bed with us."

I can certainly understand the viewpoint, since my wife refers to my Treo as my girlfriend! Having a mobile device (like a Blackberry or a Palm Treo) with always on access (like GPRS/EDGE or EVDO) is certainly empowering and liberating for most people. Levels of productivity go way up, but it also means a 24-hour work life.
